Scholarship

We sponsor the Sisterhood Without Borders scholarship to help sisters who are studying and are proud to continue to expand our efforts to grant this scholarship to multiple women each year.

Elizabeth Gorham Hoag Award in 2007 for most outstanding alumnae chapter

Take a peak inside a day in the life of one of our sisters: Dublin edition!

She was in the city to enjoy The Playboy of the Western World, an Irish play performed at the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield.

Once inside Dublin she used the local tram to get around. The green LEAP card is used to tap on and off of the LUAS trams in Dublin.

Afterwards she rounded off her day with a stop to the L. Mulligan Grocer pub in Stoneybatter before heading home on the train.

The EAC hosts a Mystic Mentorship program for new members to be connected with existing members of the chapter. And as we are a chapter spread across numerous countries it can be a good opportunity to meet a member of the chapter outside of your local area. But this can also mean having someone to catch up with in a different city when travelling!

Five members of the EAC were able to attend the 2026 Convention in St Louis where we were honoured to receive an award for Excellence in Member Programming!

It was wonderful to connect with sisters old and new, make new memories, and grow together over convention weekend!

It was also especially incredible because two EAC members are also active Sigma Kappa national volunteers, from Europe! Such tremendous dedication to serve SK even while living in London and Madrid!

The European Alumnae Chapter was founded in 1997 for women living in Europe and has been a strong community for Sigma Kappas as they settle into a life abroad.

Day in the life of an EAC sister: Edinburgh Edition!

Kaley celebrated becoming a British citizen last month so this May she got the opportunity to vote in her first UK election! She left her home and saw some of the natural beauty of the city on her way to the polling station!

Before heading into the polls you can see the last minute campaigns for some of the major political parties.

And she ended her day finding some violet flowers! The mystic bond of Sigma Kappa is always present 💜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🕊️

The European Alumnae Chapter spans borders and its what makes our chapter so unique!

There are so many benefits to being part of an alumnae chapter but the multi-generational friendships across countries makes the EAC truly special 🌷

Every year the EAC supports our philanthropy and the Alzheimer’s Association through participating in The Longest Day. It is an event aimed to raise awareness and funds for the caregivers who support those affected with Alzheimer’s disease.

Recently two EAC members met up at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam ⚓️🌷

You never know where an EAC day out could take place!

With Sisters all over we often meet up in central locations like large cities, but every so often a sister will host us in her local area, and our day out in Cambridge was just that!

Sisters travelled to spend the day together over meals, punting, and creating their own speciality gins!

It was a fantastic day out as sisters and many new memories to cherish!

Many people don’t know that Sigma Kappa has a chapter outside of the US, but the EAC has been active since 1997!

Our membership not only shares in the mystic bond but the unique experience of living outside of the US - whether they came to study, work, or raise their family, our sisters share this special connection of life together throughout Europe!

One of the unique parts of the EAC is that our sisters are often travelling around the world!

Luckily for us that meant that Dianne stopped in the UK on her way to South Africa so we celebrated with a Sigma Supper in London.

Gathering with the girls 💕 We love to see our sisters, even if its for a virtual hang out, so a few of our sisters were able to come together for a chat over Galentine’s 💜❤️

This January we kicked off our programming calendar with a Sigma Supper in London. It was great to catch up with sisters post holidays to enjoy a great meal together!

Dancing into the new year, Edinburgh style! Sisters danced at a Scottish ceilidh to ring in their new year with great dance moves and lots of fun 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The EAC is a group of women who aren’t afraid to try something new! They explored central London and then had fun ice skating together ❄️⛸️

Holiday tea at Fortnum & Masons was such a treat! Sisters gathered for a pre-holiday celebration and enjoyed afternoon tea and holiday lights across London✨🫖🧁

Reliving 2016 with the EAC! 💜 Enjoy the trip down memory lane, it was the year of our Annual Meeting in Dublin, afternoon teas, picnics, and many great memories with our sisters 💜💜
